Joe Scarborough criticizes Donald Trump's 'failing nation' comment in Iowa with scathing remarks on MSNBC

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden gave his first public address of the year a day before the third anniversary of the January 6 Capitol Attack, and now the same day, former President Donald Trump also delivered remarks in Iowa ahead of the caucuses.

These two clips were aired consecutively on MSNBC, featuring Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski sharing their perspectives on Trump.

The discussion centered on Trump and his perceived shortcomings as a politician, described by Scarborough as a "failure." However, this viewpoint faced criticism on social media.

Joe Scarborough addresses Donald Trump’s statements in Iowa

‘Morning Joe’ first played part of Joe Biden’s speech, followed by Donald Trump, and then back to Biden, and so on.

Highlighted statements from both Trump and Biden, particularly regarding the January 6 Capitol Attack, were featured. Joe Scarborough specifically emphasized Trump's comment, "We are a failing nation."

After the series of clips ended, Scarborough said, “No, you're a failure as a politician and a failure in so many other ways.”

Scarborough’s wife and co-host, Mika Brzezinski, who sat next to him also chimed in and said, “More like a disgrace.”

Scarborough continued, “Well, a failure and a disgrace. I mean, here's a guy that, again, he's talking about January 6th being peaceful. Nothing peaceful about it. Calling the rioters peaceful protesters. They go in and beat the hell out of cops because I guess he just doesn't give a damn about police officers.”

Scarborough stated, “He makes fun of prisoners of war while he and his daddy figure out a way for him to stay home from the war because of bone spurs."

"He says, you know, I was reading something…well, first of all, what Ivana Trump told 'Vanity Fair' is he read Hitler's speeches and kept them by the bedside table," he added.

"But he must have also been reading some Confederacy diary, saying that Abraham Lincoln was a failure because he should have negotiated away slavery and negotiated with the South for Civil War,” said Joe Scarborough as he continued to deliver his remarks against Donald Trump.

“Again, it keeps getting worse. It keeps getting worse,” said Scarborough before he clarified, “By the way, for the record, Donald Trump lost 51% to 47%, 306 electoral votes to 232 electoral votes.”
