TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: The First Lady of Florida, Casey DeSantis, recently stated on Fox News that residency in Iowa is not a requirement for participating in the caucus. This announcement precedes the Iowa Republican presidential caucuses scheduled for January 15, 2024.

However, The Iowa Republican Party reminded its supporters that “only residents can vote” in the first-in-the-nation caucuses, as reported by The New York Times.

Casey also clarified on social media, stating, “While voting in the Iowa caucus is limited to registered voters in Iowa, there is a way for others to participate.”

In response to this mishap ahead of the caucus, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene shared her remarks as she urged Casey to “protect election integrity.”

On X, Marjorie Taylor Greene shared a clip of Casey DeSantis’ appearance on Fox News, as she stood next to her husband and Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

This clip made its rounds on social media as Casey made claims about participating in the caucuses. In response, Greene wrote, “Let’s protect election integrity @CaseyDeSantis!”

She added, “The Republican Party of Iowa has confirmed you must be a LEGAL RESIDENT OF IOWA and bring a photo ID with you to participate in the #IowaCaucus.”

“The Trump campaign has this right and 40 pt lead is 🔥!” concluded Greene.

Casey also clarified on X, “We’ve built a nationwide coalition of moms who are mobilized to help elect @RonDeSantis: Mamas for DeSantis.”

She added, “While voting in the Iowa caucus is limited to registered voters in Iowa, there is a way for others to participate. I’m calling on mamas and grandmamas from all over the country to come volunteer in support of Ron DeSantis in the Iowa caucus.”
