Internet disagrees as Erin Andrews insists Taylor Swift is ‘incredible’ for NFL amid Travis Kelce romance
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A diehard Swiftie, Erin Andrews couldn't help but praise pop icon Taylor Swift for her surreal impact on the NFL, which could be easily noticed in the record viewership that the league registered in February 2024 for the Super Bowl.
Andrews affirmed that the singer's presence at the games to cheer for her beau and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, was enough to showcase why Swift is incredible for the league. However, people online did not seem to fully agree with her on this.
This isn't the first time the prominent sports commentator has expressed her views about Swift. Previously, she had gushed about how much she admired Swift and Kelce as a couple and wished to see them tie the knot soon.

In a recent conversation with the New York Post, Andrews looked back on the time when she suggested that Swift should give the Super Bowl-winning tight end a chance and date him.

On her podcast 'Calm Down', which she hosts with fellow sportscaster Charissa Thompson, Andrews had once said, "Hey Taylor, date Travis Kelce! He’s so fabulous! Do it for America!”
But Andrews denies being the ultimate force behind Swift and Kelce getting together. “We don’t take any credit for that," she said.

Andrews also praised Swift for her positive impact on the NFL games and the league as a whole. Andrews strongly disagreed with the criticism that Swift received from some male fans, who claimed that she was ruining the NFL.
Andrews told the New York Post, "This whole media fascination with her being involved in our sport, and people having opinions about it hurting the league, are you kidding me? She's incredible for our sport."
Andrews also said, "I find [Swift] to be completely fascinating and empowering, and I feel like now more than ever. She's opened the door to these young female viewers."
Andrews applauded Swift for bringing many fathers closer to their daughters, as the female demographic became more interested in watching the sport because of Swift.
She said, "I loved watching sports because of my dad. I grew up thinking these players were my friends. And a lot of guys come up to me and say, 'This is so cool that [Swift] was able to get my daughter interested in watching a game, and now I can sit and teach her about it'."
According to the Daily Mail, Kelce and Swift's relationship was the main highlight in the NFL last season, with a lot of media attention on Swift attending his games.
Nielsen figures showed that the average viewership for the Super Bowl showdown, which witnessed the Chiefs clinching the title over 49ers, was higher than expected, peaking at an average of 123.7 million viewers.
The number of women watching the championship game on CBS and Univision increased by 24 percent compared to the previous year, while girls aged 12-17 showed an 11 percent increase.
Internet reacts to Taylor Swift's influence on NFL
Social media users , however, did not concur with Andrews' enthusiastic remarks about Swift's influence on NFL.
One wrote, "She didn't fix them so how can she take credit? Wonder what happens to NFL when Taylor stops coming to the games? If all the new fans are just watching to catch Taylor then they are not fans of the sport, are they? So how do one equate it to new fans watching football."
Another user wrote, "It will all go away for the NFL once Taylor dumps him. The swifties will stop watching."
A user commented, "What kind of grown women likes swift?"
Another user commented, "Wrong. Most won't tune in cause they show her mug and mention her name every ten minutes. Sick of it."
A user asserted, "You know, I used to like this woman, Erin. But now she's so full of herself all because of TS. No thanks! Bye honey."
